"A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another."
John 13:34-35

“You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot.
You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven."
Matthew 5:13-16
We can only love one another the way Jesus loved us if we know him first. In this knowing we must seek Him daily and draw near to Him that He can help us to understand how He loved us. In this way we can turn and love the world around us. How can we touch a hurting world without love? What is love? It is putting the needs of others above your own.
We are praying for fathers and families this week. Malachi 4:6- Fathers and children turning toward each other. If we go into the world and have not love how will we be able to impact those around us to love or to even want to know Jesus and receive the free gift of grace and forgiveness?
Seek the Lord today, commune with Him in His sweet love and take that Love into the world that is hurting and looking for something of substance. |
